Looking for a delicious and healthy smoothie to maximize your training results? Give this high protein recipe a try.
Sometimes you need more than just protein on the go. If you want a complete, nutrient-rich, high-carb smoothie you can take with you anywhere, this is the recipe for you.
That especially means getting in the high-quality carbohydrates you need to perform. The problem with many “meal replacements” is that they have carbs, but they’re from low-quality sources like maltodextrin. Instead, make a smoothie with other sources. In this recipe, that’ll come from oats, a banana, and berries.
We’ll recommend our orange cream or strawberry lemonade protein powder because of how the flavor complements the fruit, but you can substitute chocolate or vanilla Whey Protein Isolate as well.
Ingredients:
1 cup of oats
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk. Note, if you want it more or less thick, you can adjust the amount of almond milk.
1 banana
1 cup of frozen berries. This could be blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, or any combination. If your fruits are fresh and not frozen, then add 3 ice cubes to this recipe.
1 tablespoon of almond butter. You can substitute peanut butter, but choose natural peanut butter.
1 scoop of Kaged Post-Workout Protein. We recommend the orange cream or strawberry lemonade flavors for this recipe. This protein also has the addition of 3g of glutamine, 1.5g of BetaPower®, and 1.5g of Creatine HCl.
Mix it All Into a Blender and Enjoy
It’s that simple. If it comes out and it’s too thick for you, add more almond milk. If it doesn’t have the refreshing cold taste from the frozen fruit, add a few ice cubes.
Replenish, Recover, and Recharge with Re-Kaged.
