The Benefits Of Carnipure® L-Carnitine L-Tartrate

The Benefits Of Carnipure® L-Carnitine L-Tartrate

Not all supplements are created equally, even if the ingredients look similar on the label.

They can have different forms, bioavailability, purity, and more. That’s the case with l-carnitine, the amino acid-like nutrient which helps you burn fat as fuel and reduce muscle soreness.*

In Kaged products, we always strive to use quality, pure forms of ingredients.

That’s why in Clean Burn, our great-tasting comprehensive formula to support healthy weight loss, we use a patented form of carnitine called Carnipure®.

What Is Carnipure® Carnitine?

Carnipure® is a patented form of l-carnitine l-tartrate.

Carnitine is a naturally-occurring compound derived from two amino acids: lysine and methionine. While it is structurally similar to an amino acid, it is not considered an amino acid itself.

L-carnitine plays a critical role in energy production by transporting fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they are burned to produce energy.

Carnipure® is not ordinary carnitine. It’s a patented form of l-carnitine l-tartrate that’s manufactured by the Swiss company, Lonza. When you see Carnipure®, you know you’re getting high-quality l-carnitine l-tartrate.

This means Carnipure® is…

    • Highly bioavailable so you can actually absorb the supplements you take.
    • Clinically-researched so you get the full benefits of l-carnitine.
    • Pure. This means you’ll get less impurities and more of what fuels your muscle.
    • Suitable for many diets. It’s vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free

    Why Does Carnipure® Use L-Carnitine L-Tartrate?

Carnitine-L-Tartrate is a salt of 68% L-carnitine and 32% L-tartaric acid. The tartrate version of l-carnitine has among the highest concentrations of actual l-carnitine.

More importantly for you l-carnitine l-tartrate is the most extensively studied form and is designed to burn fat as fuel and reduce muscle soreness.

What Are The Benefits of Carnipure®?

When it comes to supporting your training and results, Carnipure® has a few key benefits.

    Burn Fat As Fuel*

Carnitine is most well known for its role in energy metabolism and helping us burn fatty acids. (1,2)

You may remember from high school biology that the mitochondria is ‘the powerhouse of the cell.’ It’s where macronutrients like fatty acids and glucose get broken down into ATP, the body’s usable form of energy.

In order for fatty acids to get used as energy and made into ATP, they need to make it to the mitochondria.

On their own, fatty acids can’t do this. They need support. That’s where l-carnitine comes in.

Think of fatty acids like a pile of freshly cut wood, ready to get burned to keep the fire going, and l-carnitine like the workers who drop the logs on the fire.

In simple terms l-carnitine helps us burn fat as fuel.*

Because of its ability to help burn fatty acids, it’s a popular supplement ingredient to support a healthy body weight.

    Help Optimize Energy Production*

Because of its role in shuttling fat to the mitochondria, Carnipure® can also help optimize energy production.*

In fact, while carbohydrates are our body's tried-and-tested form of energy, fatty acids can provide a more lasting form of energy.

This may be especially helpful during a cut phase, when you may be intentionally eating fewer carbohydrates than normal.

    Reduce Soreness and Recover Post-Workout*

When you’re sore, the following days you don’t perform as well in the gym. Improving recovery and reducing soreness means you can train harder, more often. This allows you to get in more training sessions.

Research on Carnipure® has shown that, when taken before training, it accelerates recovery from high-intensity exercise.

When we train, we often use our anaerobic system, especially during high-intensity training. This is what leads to the build of toxins, like lactic acid, that lead to soreness. Carnipure® supports recovery because it can enhance blood flow, therefore helping “flush” out the lactic acid.

Simply, this means less delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) the following days. (3)

    Support Blood Flow While Training*

While related to its ability to support recovery, Carnipure® also supports blood flow while you train. At rest, the average heart beats about 72 times per minute and 103,680 times per day. That’s a ton of reps for our heart.

When we train, the number increases. Why? When we exercise we have a higher demand for blood to flow to our muscles. With blood comes oxygen and other crucial nutrients.

Without healthy blood flow, you won’t be able to train as hard or recover as effectively.

Carnipure® Is Most Effective With Other Ingredients

Despite all of this compelling research, we'll be the first to admit that Carnipure® L-Carnitine alone won't support weight loss. That's why we believe it's most powerful as part of a comprehensive formula to support healthy weight loss.

And of course, even then, no combination of supplements will replace the important of diet, exercise, and sleep.

Kaged Clean Burn Uses 100% Carnipure®

For all of these reasons, when we set out to make the world’s best “fat burner,” we included 1500mg of 100% pure Carnipure®.

We choose this patented form because it’s scientifically shown to reduce muscle soreness so you can train harder, recover better, and burn fat as fuel.*

A Comprehensive Formula to Attack Fat From Many Angles*

While Carnipure® on its own has powerful benefits, with the Clean Burn formula we set out to support healthy weight loss from a variety of angles.

It provides clean energy from organic caffeine, helps boost metabolism, and increases thermogenesis thanks to its advanced formula of patented ingredients.

We also didn’t lose sight of your health. It’s vegan, non-GMO, free of colors and flavors from artificial sources, and uses some of the highest-quality ingredients available.

How Much Carnipure® Carnitine Should You Take?

The optimal amount of l-carnitine for performance and recovery often exceeds what our body can synthesize. Because of this, l-carnitine is a “conditionally essential” nutrient. While not strictly essential, practically it is. (4,5)

On workout days, take 1500mg-2000mg of Carnipure® 30-60 minutes before your workout. On days you don’t train, take any time during the day. We include 1500mg in Clean Burn with Apple Cider Vinegar.

The bioavailability of carnitine may vary depending on if you eat meat, are vegetarian, or vegan. One study reported that bioavailability of L-carnitine in individuals adapted to low-carnitine diets (i.e., vegetarians; 66%-86%) is higher than those adapted to high-carnitine diets (i.e., regular red meat eaters; 54%-72%). (6)

As you get older, your tissue carnitine levels may drop. (7)

    How to Use Carnipure®

In fact, we include Carnipure® in Clean Burn, our fat-burner designed to support fat burning and healthy weight loss.*

    Can Our Body Make L-Carnitine?

Yes, it can. However, not at the levels that will optimally support your post-workout recovery.

In order to make sufficient carnitine, the additional following nutrients must be available in adequate amounts: lysine and methionine, vitamins B3 and B6, vitamin C along with iron.

    Is Carnipure® Better Than Acetyl-L-Carnitine?

Carnipure®, which is a form of l-carnitine l-tartrate, and acetyl l-carnitine have similarities but also many differences.

While both have been studied for their roles in fat metabolism, l-carnitine l-tartrate has been looked at more for its role in improving recovery. That’s why we use this form in Kaged products, since l-carnitine l-tartrate more specific to training.

In contrast, acetyl-l-carnitine may make it through the blood brain barrier, and has been studied as a potential supplement to support cognitive function.
